Spot Sensor Audits: Turning Citizen Data into Legal Evidence

Standard operating procedure for calibrating portable air monitors, water TDS probes, and capturing geotagged photographic proof.
Government authorities frequently dismiss citizen complaints with the phrase "This is anecdotal." When you present calibrated, time-stamped, geotagged sensor logs with accompanying meteorological context, the burden of proof shifts legally to the statutory authority. EQUIPMENT PROTOCOL: 1. AIR MONITORING: Use dual-laser particulate sensors (e.g. Plantower PMS5003). Record 15-minute rolling averages rather than instantaneous spikes. 2. WATER QUALITY: Use titanium electrode TDS meters calibrated with standard 342 ppm NaCl solution. Always note the temperature. 3. PHOTOGRAPHIC METADATA: Ensure camera EXIF data contains valid GPS coordinates and UTC timestamps. Do not edit or filter the images.
