Your data is yours. It is not training fodder for AI.

Grassroots collectives hold sensitive data. Big Tech platforms (like WhatsApp, Facebook) track you with ad pixels and actively scrape your conversations to train their Large Language Models (LLMs). Sangathan is built differently.

  • Opt-out by Default: Zero data scraping for external AI training.
  • Strict Isolation: Your organisation data is never co-mingled with others.
  • No Ads, No Pixels: We never track your users across the web.

What we DO NOT do

Our business model does not rely on monetizing your attention or data. Here are the common industry practices we explicitly refuse to engage in.

Our Strict Anti-Practices

Political ProfilingWe do not infer, sell, or analyze your political leanings or affiliations.
Ad Targeting & PixelsZero ads. Zero secret cookies. Zero cross-site tracking pixels.
Device FingerprintingWe do not build a shadow profile of you across the internet using your hardware footprint.
Location TrackingWe never track or store your GPS coordinates or background movements.
Inbox ScanningWe do not read or scan your communications for ad-profiling or AI training.
Data Scraping for AIWe refuse to use your organisation's private data to train external Large Language Models.
Vendor Lock-inWe don't hold your data hostage. You can export your member lists and data in CSV format at any time.
Selling to Data BrokersWe never purchase shadow profiles or sell your member lists to third-party data brokers.

Governance & Neutrality

Platform Neutrality

We act solely as infrastructure. We do not endorse or fund any organisation on our platform. We do not police ideological content unless it violates our Acceptable Use Policy. We are content-agnostic but safety-mandatory.

Suspension Policy

For serious violations (financial fraud, violence, exploitation), we reserve the right to suspend accounts immediately without prior notice. All suspensions are reviewed by our safety team, and organisations have the right to appeal.

The Supporter Model

Sangathan is free for grassroots collectives because we are supported by larger organisations paying for the "Institution" plan. This aligns our incentives with yours - we do not need to sell your data to keep the lights on. We answer to our users, not to advertisers.
